Children & Youth Ministries

Children and Youth Ministries

Throughout First Presbyterian Church, we are eager for children and youth to learn that the church is a special place for them, where they belong, are loved, have friends, and find important service to do.

Nursery and Toddler Rooms

We employ trained child-care providers to staff our nursery and preschool playroom so that the same smiling faces will greet the children each week. Located on the 1st floor, Nursery care is available from 8:30 a.m. (9:15 a.m. during summer hours) until the conclusion of Worship. Nursery care is also available during most church sponsored events.

Sunday School

Children in Kindergarten – 5th grade (ages 5-10) enjoy Sunday School at 9 a.m. during the school year. Through Biblical stories shared in a variety of ways, children learn in a setting that stimulates their imagination and encourages class participation. Join us on the 2nd floor to learn God's word with crafts and other fun activities!

Children's Music Time

Children have the opportunity to engage in musical performance through our Children's Choir and our Children's Bell Choir. Ms. Amy Koon & Mrs. Betty Pat Lee lead our children in these ensembles at 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Our congregation greatly enjoys having the children perform during our Worship Services.

Children's Church

Children in Kindergarten – 5th grade are invited to participate in an educational ministry following "Time with Young Disciples" in our Worship Service. Children's Church is a parent-led alternative to "big church" held in the 1st floor library during the school year. Volunteers teach a prepared lesson revolving around a Bible story and age-appropriate craft.

Youth Group

Any youth in grades 5th-12th are invited to join! Youth Group participates in events throughout the year. Activities center around volunteering in the local community.

Parents' Night Out

Join us for a fun family event! The first Friday of every month from 5:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m., parents are invited to drop their children off at the church for an evening of fun and games while parents enjoy a free night out. The event is geared toward kindergarten through 6th grade school aged children. Parents can enjoy an evening together while ther children learn in a caring and Christian environment with qualified staff.

Prior notification is not necessary but strongly encouraged.

Vacation Bible School

First Presbyterian Church invites all members of our community to our Vacation Bible School held each summer. It is a fun time to share in The Lord's way and for all ages to get to know each other better. Our planning team puts together a week filled with sacred stories, songs, drama, crafts, exploration and fellowship.
